About the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston

https://www.csjboston.org/

Did you know that since our arrival in Boston in 1873 the Sisters of St. Joseph have been educating, and serving the greater Boston community?  We have staffed over 125 schools!!  We have worked for the archdiocese, in parishes, hospitals, nursing homes, and as volunteers for dozens of Boston institutions! We see relationship at the heart of who we are and all we do. Today our work continues and the charism thrives in partnership with CSJ Associates, CSJ Agrégées and lay partners in mission.

We are a community whose mission is to realize the prayer of Christ: that all may be one with God and with one another. We are united in a special focus: to work for unity where there is brokenness and to help people become whole and holy, individually and together.

What we refer to as the "charism" of the Sisters of St. Joseph is a gift of the Spirit is given to all of us, sisters, associates, agrégées, and partners in mission in such a way that the prayer of Jesus "that all may be one" may be experienced in our time and into the future. This mission belongs to all of us and allows us to reach out in so many different ways to so many different people. We are united in this mission with Sisters of St. Joseph and lay partners all over the world.
